A different kind of "cloud" classroom, equally exciting

2022-03-24

It was a warm and chilly March in early spring, and spring was creeping in.

But the sudden outbreak of the epidemic slowed down the city of Nanjing.

After intense internal training and curriculum adjustments, teachers at Nanjing Jindi Future School started their online teaching work, linking the children's classroom life through the "Cloud Classroom".

"How can I protect my children's vision health with long hours of online learning?"

"Daily homework, how do I get the children to deepen their understanding?"

"Living at home, do the children have any worries?"

......

With a series of questions in mind, the Primary Department worked together to design an exclusive "Online Cloud Class Schedule" to make the children's time at home more fulfilling and to make the most of their lives and learning.

"A lesson is kept to 20 minutes as much as possible to ensure the children's eyesight is healthy." In terms of learning, an interactive online learning method has been added to ensure the quality of teaching; a homework tutorial class is held simultaneously after daily classes, and every effort is made to guide each child's homework, no matter how late it is.

In terms of life, 15 minutes of daily morning reading, two eye exercises and one hour of recess exercise are provided to help the children to go to bed early and get up early to the maximum extent possible, and to develop a good routine of keeping active. Life coaching classes are also provided to guide the children to start with the chores of life and to do what they can.

Emotional health is the only way to learn happily

High intensity studies, heavy school work, long hours at home ...... The teachers of the Secondary Section have done a lot of work on how to relieve their emotions and enrich their lives at home, taking into account the characteristics of the online courses.

On the one hand, the class teachers communicated promptly in the class QQ group to understand the emotional distress of the children and parents in a meticulous manner.

On the other hand, the mental health teachers conducted targeted sessions for the children on "How to face the love nagging under the epidemic? and "How do you feel about the epidemic? A series of psychological activities such as "How to deal with nagging" and "How do you feel about the epidemic?" were organised for the children to relieve their emotional stress and ease the friction between parents and children. Every evening, we also arrange online public lectures for parents and children to listen together.

It is worth noting that the children were surprisingly well behaved. Not only did they overcome their emotional worries, but their sense of urgency to learn was undiminished and they persisted in improving their professional skills despite being homebound.

However, he still overcame the difficulties by going to bed early and waking up early, planning his study tasks reasonably, communicating closely with his teachers, completing his homework efficiently and actively preparing for the exams in May.

Some of our students have taken the initiative to take on household chores and have developed new skills as cooks, such as scrambling eggs with tomatoes and stir-frying vegetables.

We hope that all the waiting will not be disappointed. Let's join hands to fight the epidemic, cross the distance of space and nurture a golden future together. We look forward to meeting again in the spring when the flowers bloom!
